General

Who is Real Garage Life?

While the name might be new, we’re still the same team you’ve known and trusted for years—nothing’s changed except the opportunities we now have to serve you better!

Our story started with Advantage Lifts—a product we believed in so much, we became the owners! A few years later, we expanded by acquiring Backyard Buddy, a brand that lived up to the same standards of quality and reliability we demand from our lifts, backed by American-assembled strength. Then came Warren Steel Specialties, bringing decades of metal fabrication expertise into the fold. Most recently, we introduced IronTough™ Workbenches—because we’ve always known garage life goes beyond automotive lifts. It’s about the full garage life setup.

As our lineup grew, we realized something: trying to fit all of this under the Advantage Lifts name just didn’t make sense anymore. So, we set out to create something new to bring everything we offer into one clear identity—Real Garage Life™.

Lifts - Workbenches - Garage Accessories & more. All built with the same commitment to quality, safety, and strength that got us here in the first place!

We are proud to welcome you to Real Garage Life™ - built for real people, with real passion.

Where is the Real Garage Life headquarters located?

We are headquartered in Hanover, Pennsylvania!

Lift Selection

What is the difference between a 2-post lift and a 4-post lift?

A 2-post lift is primarily used for maintenance on vehicles in a residential or commercial setting. A 2-post lift does provide more open access underneath the vehicles and the tires.

A 4-post lift is a better lift for storage but can be used during maintenance and restoration projects as well. Rolling Jacks can be used to assist with wheel and brake work. Rolling Jack Trays are included in all Advantage Lifts 4-Post.

What does the 5-year warranty cover?

How long does my car trailer need to be for me to pick up my lift?

You will need to have one of the following:

  • a minimum 16 - 18 ft trailer that is not enclosed (unless it has a barn door or roll up door - enclosed trailers with ramps will not be accepted)
  • a flatbed
  • a tractor trailer

You cannot load a lift into the bed of a pickup truck.

Installation

Do you have the option for installation of my lift?

Yes, we have a network of installers nationwide! Give our team a call for more information on installations, or to get a quote. (763) 300-5730.

What is the cost of installation?

Prices will vary based on the quantity of lifts, your location, and other factors.

Can I install my lift by myself?

Yes! Installation can be completed by a single individual, although having 2-3 people to help is always best. We recommend using a lifting device for the runways, such as an engine hoist, material handler, or forklift.

The installation process is not complicated and can be completed with the instructions found in the manual. Cables come pre-strung and the locking mechanism is pre-assembled, leaving minimal parts to assemble. We have heard from customers after they installed their lift that it was much easier than expected! Be sure to check out our installation videos and social media posts for more tips & tricks.

What thickness of concrete do I need to have in my garage or workspace?
